Michael’s Story
It all started in 1996 when Michael missed the US Open Qualifier by only one shot. His golf career looked bright, but just three weeks later, he got into an accident that left him with a shattered wrist and equally shattered dreams. Each doctor he visited told him the same thing: he could get surgery to fix his wrist, but he would never play golf again.
Devastated, Michael left for Asia to explore other opportunities. While abroad, he met a Chinese doctor who used holistic techniques to heal his wrist. Within four months, he was playing golf without pain again. Not much later, he was back on the competitive scene internationally, participating in tournaments and tours in countries like India and Thailand.
Through this personal healing transformation, Michael realized the key to success as a tour player was to master the game with one’s mind. He began developing his golf coaching program so he could help other players improve their game, too.
Michael drew upon principles from his extensive training in martial arts and yoga for his coaching program, from which his clients saw immediate results. He has spent over twenty-five years refining his holistic teaching methods and Mind-Body-Balance philosophy, which have opened up his clients to amazing success both on the golf course and in their personal lives.
My Mission
Why do I do what I do? While it all starts with golf, the impact I strive to achieve goes much further than that.
I have chosen to combine all my passions in life to teach others how to live a healthier, happier and more well-balanced life. I primarily use golf to teach, which is a great metaphor for life. But I also use fly fishing, woodworking, backpacking and skiing as opportunities to help others transform themselves. My goal is to spread positivity and love in the world.
Through my expertise in these areas I am able to inspire men to take the necessary steps to become warriors. What are warriors? Men of character who live their lives with the highest values and enjoy the benefits of having a strong mind, healthy body and overall balance. To implement this mission, I have designed my coaching programs and ministry so that they transform participants’ lives both on and off the golf course.
